<![CDATA[Roulette strategy debate - Martingale, Fibonacci, or just accept the house edge?]]>Been playing at various sites for years and I keep seeing the same arguments about roulette strategies. Some swear by Martingale, others prefer Fibonacci, but mathematically we all know the house edge is there.

French roulette with La Partage reduces house edge to 1.35% on even money bets. Still doesn't make progression systems profitable long-term, but definitely better odds.

Add one unit on loss, subtract one on win. Still doesn't change the fundamental maths though - you're fighting an uphill battle against the zero(s).

The Fibonacci sequence follows F(n) = F(n-1) + F(n-2) where F(0)=0, F(1)=1

For roulette betting: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55...

The probability of losing n consecutive even-money bets is (19/37)^n for European roulette.

So losing 10 in a row: (0.5135)^10 ≈ 0.1% chance, but when it happens you're down £143 and need to bet £89 next.

Still fighting that 2.7% house edge though, just with prettier numbers.
