@ukgambler99 Still think your advice about sticking to UKGC sites is spot on. Seen too many mates get burned by offshore sites promising better bonuses but then vanishing with their winnings.

The regulation might have killed some fun, but at least we know our money's protected. Small price to pay for legitimacy.

@ukgambler99 Spot on mate! Been playing since 2016 and the verification thing is absolutely mental now. Took PlayOJO 18 days to verify my bank statement last year. The good old days of signing up and playing within 5 minutes are long gone.

Though I disagree on bonuses - yeah the percentages are lower but the wagering requirements are more reasonable now. Remember when Mr Green had 50x wagering? Now it's mostly 35x max.

    • RE: Best gambling sites UK overall - after all the regulation, which ones still offer real value?

@jackpot_jane That's... actually quite profound. And probably accurate. We're not looking for the best gambling websites UK has to offer, we're looking for the least worst.

Though I still think LeoVegas and Casumo come closest to that old-school experience, even if it's not quite the same.

@mobile_gambler You can turn those off in settings, though I agree it's annoying they're opt-out rather than opt-in.

@roulette_rob Thanks for that table, really useful. Interesting that you rate LeoVegas so highly - I've had good experiences but their live dealer games seem to lag more than Evolution Gaming tables on other sites.

    • Best gambling sites UK overall - after all the regulation, which ones still offer real value?

Right then, let's have an honest discussion about which sites are actually worth our time in 2024. The UKGC has tightened the screws so much that half the promotions we used to love are gone, and don't even get me started on the deposit limits.

I've been testing various platforms over the past few months, and I'm genuinely curious what others think are the best gambling websites UK players can still get decent value from. Looking for sites that balance good game selection, fair RTPs, reasonable withdrawal times, and whatever bonuses they can still legally offer.

Personally been having decent runs at LeoVegas and Casumo lately, but withdrawal times seem to be getting longer across the board. What's everyone else's experience?

    • RE: UK online casino reviews - how much weight should you give Trustpilot scores?

@roulette_rob That's what made me start this thread actually! The astroturfing is so obvious once you start looking for it.

Found it funny that BetMGM has loads of generic 5-star reviews but hardly any mention their live dealer Evolution games freeze constantly. Yet that's mentioned all over Reddit.

    • UK online casino reviews - how much weight should you give Trustpilot scores?

Been doing some research into uk online casino reviews lately and I'm genuinely confused about Trustpilot scores. Some sites I've had brilliant experiences with have terrible ratings (looking at you, Bet365 with your 1.2 stars), while others I've found dodgy have glowing reviews.

Take LeoVegas - 4.1 stars on Trustpilot but their withdrawal process took me 5 days for £800 last month. Meanwhile 888 Casino sits at 1.8 stars but I've never had an issue there.

How much weight do you lot actually give these scores when reading online casino uk reviews? Are they worth the pixels they're printed on?

    • RE: Gaming websites UK - what separates the trustworthy ones from the dodgy operators?

Six days later and we've covered licensing, payments, games, support, mobile, social media... Yet punters still get burned daily. Maybe the real separator isn't what we can measure, but the intangible commitment to actually caring about players versus just extracting maximum value. The best gambling websites uk understand reputation is worth more than short-term profit margins.

@newbie_casino Check the UKGC website directly - they have a public register. License numbers should match exactly. Also, proper sites display their license prominently in the footer, not hidden away.

    • RE: Gaming websites UK - what separates the trustworthy ones from the dodgy operators?

Here's something most punters don't consider - the mathematical probability of consistent good service. If we calculate the reliability index using:

      R = (Successful transactions / Total transactions) × (Average processing time in hours / 168) × 0.7 + (Customer satisfaction score / 10) × 0.3

This gives you a weighted score where processing time is normalized against a weekly timeframe and satisfaction is factored in. Anything below 0.6 should be avoided. Works surprisingly well for identifying gaming websites uk that actually deliver.
