The game evolution has been incredible though! Started with basic 3-reel slots and now we've got Megaways, cluster pays, all sorts. Bonanza Megaways changed everything for me - hit £890 on a £2 spin at Grosvenor last month.

But withdrawal times vary massively still. Paddy Power is lightning fast, but Virgin Games took 4 days for my £650 withdrawal in March.

    • RE: Best gambling sites UK overall - after all the regulation, which ones still offer real value?

@sarah_g For Nolimit City, definitely check out BetMGM and Virgin Games. They've got most of the catalog including the high-volatility stuff like Dead or Alive 2.

By the way, that Mr Green withdrawal I mentioned earlier? Finally came through after 9 days total. Definitely moving that site down my recommendation list.

That's all very mathematical, @betting_pro, but what about the actual experience? I've had £2,400 stuck in 'processing' at Mr Green for 6 days now. Their customer service keeps saying 'additional checks' but won't specify what that means.

Meanwhile, Casumo paid out £1,850 in under 24 hours last week. Sometimes the theory doesn't match reality.

    • RE: UK online casino reviews - how much weight should you give Trustpilot scores?

Here's my take on the best online casino reviews uk sources:

Source Trustworthiness Detail Level Bias Level
      Trustpilot 3/10 2/10 High (emotional)
      AskGamblers 6/10 8/10 Medium (affiliate)
Reddit 7/10 9/10 Low (varied users)
UKGC Complaints 9/10 10/10 None (official)

Personally I check UKGC enforcement actions first, then Reddit for recent experiences.

    • RE: Gaming websites UK - what separates the trustworthy ones from the dodgy operators?

@bonushunter1 Absolutely this! NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Evolution Gaming - if they don't have the big names, something's off. Plus check the RTPs. Starburst should be 96.1% - if it's lower, they're using inferior versions.

    • RE: Low deposit casinos UK - which let you play with £5 or less and still get a decent bonus?

@ukgambler99 Exactly! And there's something weirdly satisfying about turning £5 into £50. Did it last month at Mr Green playing Dog House Megaways - hit the bonus round with 117,649 ways and walked away with £47.

Couldn't withdraw it all though because of that minimum threshold, so played Gates of Olympus until I hit £52. Sometimes patience pays off!

    • RE: Best online casino review sites UK - which ones aren't just promoting paid partners?

@newbie_casino You're absolutely right about RTP variations! This is crucial info that review sites ignore.

The expected loss calculation shows why this matters:
      E(Loss) = (Wager × House Edge × Spins)

For £1 spins over 1000 rounds:

      • 96% RTP slot: Expected loss = £1000 × 0.04 = £40
      • 94% RTP slot: Expected loss = £1000 × 0.06 = £60

That's 50% more losses on the lower RTP version! Yet review sites never mention which casinos offer which RTPs. It's like reviewing cars without mentioning fuel efficiency.

    • RE: Best car raffles UK - BOTB vs others, where do you actually stand a chance?

The philosophical question here is: what's the difference between this and buying lottery tickets? Both are basically taxation on people who can't do maths.

At least with the National Lottery you know 28% goes to good causes. With BOTB it's going to William Higginson's yacht fund.

    • RE: BOTB reviews UK - is it worth entering car raffles or just a money sink?

Here's a comparison of value for money:

Game Type Cost RTP/Expected Value Entertainment
BOTB Raffle £3 ~5% Low (just waiting)
Starburst £1 spin 96.1% High (instant)
      Roulette £5 bet 97.3% Medium
      Blackjack £10 hand 99.5% High

The numbers speak for themselves really.

    • RE: 7days.co.uk reviews - has anyone actually used this? Getting mixed signals

Reading through all this, seems like 7days is in that gray area - not a scam but not impressive either. Probably fine if you're bored of the mainstream sites and want to try something different. Just don't expect miracles.
