Cheers for all the input everyone. Think I'll give Unibet a proper trial based on the feedback. The rake difference alone might be worth the smaller player pool. Will report back in a month or so with results.
Still here! Bankroll is now at £73 so doing something right. Tried £0.05/£0.10 a few times but @poker_pete_uk was right - much harder. Sticking to the baby stakes for now.
Funniest thing happened yesterday - bluffed someone off what must have been a decent hand with absolutely nothing. Felt like a proper poker player for about 5 minutes until I donated it all back with a terrible call.
@james_uk Never too late to adapt! The learning resources available now are incredible compared to when we started. Solvers, training sites, database analysis - it's like having a team of coaches.
If you do make the switch, start small and be patient with yourself. The transition isn't easy but it's absolutely worth it for serious players.
@poker_pete_uk Fair enough mate, but keep an open mind. The industry does evolve, just slower than the marketing suggests. Maybe check back in a year and see if any of these new launches have proved themselves worth the switch.
Just wanted to resurrect this thread because I've been using Paddy Power poker mobile lately and it's actually not bad. Probably won't win any awards but if you're already using them for sports betting, it's convenient having everything in one app.
Player pool is tiny though - sometimes struggle to find a game at £1/£2.
Thanks for all the input everyone. Downloaded 888 last night and already impressed by the software smoothness. Still feels weird not seeing the PokerStars lobby but change is clearly needed.
Will report back in a month with results. Sometimes the devil you don't know is better than the devil you do...
Thanks everyone for the detailed responses! Think the consensus is Stars remains king but the gap is narrowing. The mathematical analysis from @mike_bet especially was eye-opening.
Might be time to properly test 888 and partypoker for a few months. Will report back with findings - assuming I don't go broke in the process!
