Here's my comparison after testing both formats for 3 months:

Feature Native App Mobile Browser Winner
Loading Speed 2.1s average 4.7s average App
Game Library Sometimes limited Full access Browser
Bonuses Push notifications Manual check App
Storage Impact 150-300MB Minimal cache Browser
Offline Features Login retention None App
Security Updates App store delays Instant Browser
      Multitasking Seamless Tab refreshing App

It's genuinely 50/50 depending on your priorities.

@poker_pete_uk That table is gold! The security update point is massive - browser versions get patches immediately while waiting for app store approval can leave vulnerabilities open for days.

Unpopular opinion: Grosvenor's browser version is actually better than their app. The app crashes constantly on my Samsung when playing Razor Shark. Browser version has never failed me, even during those intense bonus buy sessions.

As someone new to this, I'm confused why we even need this debate in 2024? Shouldn't apps just universally be better by now? Seems like casinos are half-arsing their mobile development if browsers can compete.

@newbie_casino Welcome to the wonderful world of gambling tech! You'd think it'd be simple but casino operators are often 5 years behind mainstream app development. Some still think a mobile site that doesn't crash equals 'mobile optimized'.

Been quiet on this but had to chime in - Unibet app vs browser is night and day difference. App remembers my favourite bet patterns, browser makes me set up my corner bets from scratch every bloody session. That's proper quality of life stuff right there.

The battery drain comparison is worth mentioning too. PlayOJO app absolutely murders my battery - 4 hours of Sweet Bonanza and I'm at 15%. Same session on browser lasts much longer. Anyone else notice this with specific apps?

Privacy angle: browsers let you use incognito/private browsing for those sessions you don't want saved in your history. Apps track everything. Just saying... sometimes the missus checks my phone! 😅

@casinofan_gb Mate you need to have that conversation with the wife, not hide it! But fair point about privacy.

Real talk though - Coral app has this annoying feature where it shows recent games on the home screen. Embarrassing when colleagues see 'Gates of Olympus - Last played 2:30 AM' during a work presentation.

Coming back to this thread after trying LeoVegas app based on recommendations here. The fingerprint login is brilliant - no more typing passwords on tiny keyboards. Browser can't match that convenience factor.

Though I did just blow £300 in 20 minutes because it was so easy to get in... double-edged sword!
