I self-excluded via Gamstop and still found 10 ways around it - should I share this?

So I've been Gamstop excluded for 8 months now after losing £12k in 6 weeks. Thought it would help but honestly I've discovered so many uk sites not on gamstop that it's been pretty useless.

Found 10 different ways to keep playing - some obvious, some not. Part of me thinks I should share these methods to help other problem gamblers realise Gamstop isn't bulletproof, but another part thinks I'd just be enabling people.

Anyone else found the whole system a bit of a joke? I mean I'm still playing Sweet Bonanza and Gates of Olympus like nothing happened.

Mate, please don't share those methods. I know Gamstop has gaps but posting workarounds here would just hurt vulnerable people. If you're still gambling after self-excluding, you need proper support, not ways to enable others.

This is exactly why I never trusted Gamstop in the first place. It's security theatre - makes people feel like they're doing something meaningful when really it's full of holes. The fact that uk casino not on gamstop options exist proves the whole system is fundamentally flawed.

@sarah_g The mathematics behind addiction recovery actually support graduated exposure reduction rather than complete blocking. If we consider the probability of relapse P(R) = 1 - e^(-λt) where λ represents the hazard rate and t represents time since exclusion, then:

            P(R) = 1 - e^(-0.23×8) = 1 - e^(-1.84) ≈ 0.841

This means after 8 months, there's roughly an 84% chance of finding workarounds, which aligns perfectly with what OP is experiencing.

The irony here is beautiful. A system designed to protect people from gambling creates a challenge that problem gamblers feel compelled to solve. It's like putting a 'wet paint' sign on addiction recovery.

@ukgambler99 I found 7 methods myself. The offshore route is obvious but there are some UK-adjacent approaches that surprised me. Won £850 on Mystake last week playing Dog House Megaways - money hit my Revolut in 6 hours.

You lot are missing the bigger picture. The government created Gamstop knowing it wouldn't work perfectly. It shifts liability from operators to individuals - 'we gave you the tools, not our fault you found workarounds.'

@mike_bet Seriously? You're openly discussing how to circumvent gambling blocks on a public forum? This is exactly what destroys communities. Some people here are genuinely trying to recover.

Let me break down what we're really comparing here:

Method Effectiveness Time to Setup Risk Level
                      Gamstop 60% 5 minutes Low
Bank blocking 80% 30 minutes Medium
                      Self-discipline 15% Years High
                      Third-party software 75% 2 hours Medium

The data speaks for itself - no single solution works.

@casino_dan I appreciate the concern mate but people deserve to know the truth about these systems. I've been playing on GoldenBet and Britsino for months - both online casino uk not on gamstop platforms with better RTPs than most UKGC sites anyway.

The philosophical question here is whether ignorance or knowledge causes more harm. If someone doesn't know these workarounds exist, are they safer? Or does false security lead to bigger crashes when they inevitably discover them?

Here's what's fascinating from a game theory perspective. Let S represent the set of all possible gambling sites, G represent Gamstop-blocked sites, and U represent unblocked sites. The utility function becomes:

                            U(x) = Σ(expected_value × probability_of_access) - (search_cost + risk_premium)

When |G| increases, players optimize by finding sites in U\G, often with higher risk premiums but lower search costs over time.

Been Gamstop excluded for 2 years. Still playing weekly. The system is genuinely laughable - I spend more on gambling now than before because the non-UKGC sites have better bonuses and no win limits.

@tom_slots This thread has become everything wrong with gambling discourse. You're all treating addiction like a game to be won rather than a disease to be treated. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Just joined this forum specifically because of this thread. Lost £3,200 on Bet365 before self-excluding. Now I'm curious about these alternatives everyone's mentioning. Feel like I'm missing out on something.

@newbie_casino And there's the perfect example of how this discussion enables vulnerable people. Someone who just lost over 3 grand and self-excluded is now 'curious about alternatives' after reading this thread.

The drama in this thread is more entertaining than most slots. @casino_dan riding his moral high horse while everyone else shares war stories from the trenches of Gamstop evasion.

@ukgambler99 I respect the honesty but sharing specific methods would cross a line. However, discussing the systemic failures of Gamstop is valuable. The industry needs to know these gaps exist to improve protection.

Update: Hit a £2,400 win on Stake playing Razor Shark at 97.07% RTP. Withdrawal took 4 hours to Monzo. The irony is I'm probably safer on these offshore sites - no credit facilities, better responsible gambling tools than most UKGC operators.

Final thoughts - I won't be sharing the specific methods publicly, but anyone genuinely struggling can DM me. The system is broken and pretending otherwise helps nobody. Sometimes you need to acknowledge the enemy to fight it properly.
