Best betting website vs best betting app - do you get different odds on the same bookie?
-
@withdrawal_king Nice table! Though I'd argue mobile apps are catching up fast. Paddy Power's app is actually faster than their website sometimes.
-
Plot twist: some bookies deliberately make their apps slightly worse to encourage desktop usage. Desktop users tend to bet more and stick around longer. It's all about customer lifetime value, innit?
-
Here's the statistical significance test for odds variance:
χ² = Σ[(Oᵢ - Eᵢ)² / Eᵢ]
Where Oᵢ is observed odds difference and Eᵢ is expected difference (should be 0). If χ² > 3.84 (p<0.05), the difference is statistically significant.
Ran this on 500 Bet365 odds comparisons - no significant difference found. It's all confirmation bias, folks.

Been using Sky Bet for years and honestly can't tell any difference. Their cash out feature works identically on both platforms too. Think people are overthinking this.
-
@roulette_rob That's a proper conspiracy theory mate! Though knowing how these companies operate, wouldn't surprise me if there was some truth to it.
-
Just started betting and this thread is mental helpful. So basically stick to desktop for best odds and use app for convenience? Got it.
-
VIP accounts definitely get priority on odds updates. My Coral VIP app updates faster than my mate's standard account. Perks of dropping serious money I suppose.
-
The real question is whether enhanced odds promos appear simultaneously on both platforms. Ladbrokes definitely pushes some app-exclusive offers that don't show on desktop.
-
@bonushunter1 Yes! Spotted this loads. Sometimes get better acca boosts on the app versus website. It's like they're running different promotion engines entirely.
-
Cheers everyone, think I've got my answer. Odds are technically the same but sync delays and promo differences mean it's worth checking both. Mental how complicated something so simple can be!
