Bet365 UK review 2024 - is it still the best or just living off its reputation?
-
Been using Bet365 for years but starting to wonder if I'm just being loyal out of habit. Used to be the clear winner when looking at bet365 reviews uk but competition has stepped up massively.
Their odds seem less competitive lately, especially for Premier League matches. Withdrawal took 3 days last week (£450) when it used to be same day. In-play interface still solid but nothing revolutionary.
Are they coasting on reputation while other best bookmakers uk actually innovate? Interested in what long-term users think vs newcomers trying different platforms.
-
Honestly think you're spot on. Been comparing them against other top 10 uk betting sites and they're falling behind in key areas. Betfair Exchange consistently offers better value on football, and Sky Bet's same game multiples are more generous.
Still use them for live streaming though - that's where they maintain their edge.
-
@betting_pro You're being too harsh mate. Yes, some competitors have caught up, but Bet365's reliability is unmatched. Never had a bet voided unfairly or faced any dodgy practices.
Tried Paddy Power recently and their customer service was shocking. Sometimes consistency trumps flashy features.
-
Let me break down the actual mathematics of their margin changes:
If we calculate Expected Value using EV = (P × W) - (1 - P) × L
Where P = true probability, W = winnings, L = stakeBet365's overround on Premier League matches has increased from average 104.5% in 2022 to 106.8% in 2024. This represents a 2.2% decrease in player value, which over 100 bets of £50 each costs you an extra £110 in theoretical losses.
Numbers don't lie - they're definitely extracting more margin.
-
@mike_bet That's genuinely helpful analysis, cheers. Makes me feel less crazy for noticing the difference in my betting bank performance this year.
Anyone else finding their casino section particularly stale? Same old NetEnt games while places like LeoVegas are getting exclusives.
-
Sarah's right about the casino side being dated. Just checked and they still don't have any Nolimit City or Hacksaw Gaming slots. Meanwhile Casumo has the full Hacksaw catalogue including the new Chaos Crew game.
Their live dealer section is decent though - Evolution Gaming tables run smoothly.
-
Withdrawal speeds have definitely declined. Here's my recent experience:
Operator Amount Method Time Taken Fee Bet365 £280 Bank Transfer 72 hours £0 Unibet £340 Bank Transfer 24 hours £0 William Hill £195 Bank Transfer 48 hours £0 BetVictor £420 Bank Transfer 18 hours £0 Bet365 slowest of the bunch now.
-
@withdrawal_king That table is depressing but not surprising. The gradual decline in service standards while maintaining premium pricing feels very 'British Telecom circa 2010'.
@ukgambler99 Fair point about reliability, but shouldn't that be baseline expectation rather than competitive advantage?
-
The philosophical question here is whether we reward past excellence or demand current performance. Bet365 built trust over decades, but if that trust becomes complacency, when do we walk away?
It's like staying in a relationship because it used to be good, not because it currently is.
-
@tom_slots Bloody hell, didn't expect relationship counselling in a betting forum! But you're not wrong.
Just moved my main action to 888 Casino after 8 years with Bet365. Their new customer treatment was better than Bet365's 'loyalty' rewards.
-
The irony is that Bet365's marketing budget probably exceeds most competitors' entire revenue, yet they're losing customers to better user experiences elsewhere.
Money can't buy innovation, apparently. Sometimes disruption comes from hunger, not resources.
-
Mobile app comparison time:
Bet365 app crashes twice weekly on my iPhone 14. Coral's app is smoother, loads faster, and the bet slip doesn't randomly clear itself.
For a company their size, basic technical competence shouldn't be negotiable.
-
Remember when Bet365 had genuinely good promotions? Now it's '£10 free bet when you lose £50' while PokerStars Casino offers actual cashback percentages.
Their bonus terms have become increasingly player-hostile too. 5x wagering became 8x, then 10x for some markets.
-
@bonushunter1 VIP treatment has declined massively. Used to get personal account managers, now it's generic emails and standard customer service queues.
Betfair's VIP program actually makes you feel valued. Proper hospitality events, not just t-shirts and keyrings.
-
Their poker client is absolutely tragic compared to PokerStars or even Grosvenor Poker. Software feels like it's from 2015, tournament structures are weak, and the player pool is tiny.
If you're serious about poker, Bet365 isn't even top 5 UK options.
-
Just noticed they removed several Pragmatic Play slots including Sweet Bonanza Xmas. No explanation, just gone.
Meanwhile Mr Green added 15 new titles this month. Content management seems reactive rather than strategic at Bet365.
-
@casino_dan Evolution tables are solid but limited variety. Grosvenor offers exclusive Evolution tables plus Pragmatic Play Live dealers.
Bet365's live casino feels like they signed one contract in 2018 and called it done.
-
As someone who only started online gambling this year, I tried Bet365 based on reputation but honestly wasn't impressed.
PlayOJO's no-wagering bonuses and Casumo's gamification made much better first impressions. Maybe Bet365 is better for experienced players?
-
@newbie_casino That's exactly the problem - they're not attracting new blood. The entire business model seems built around customer inertia rather than customer satisfaction.
Classic example of market leadership breeding complacency.
-
Plot twist - just got a call from Bet365 VIP team offering significantly better odds and cashback rates. Seems they're aware of the retention issues.
Too little too late, or genuine attempt to win back long-term customers?
